Residential Landscape Design - Yi Wu Shanghai Residence

Mountain View Garden - Yi Wu China

Located within a new subdivision of Yi Wu, this private residence garden design was commissioned by the client of the Yi Wu Riverside Park and designed while employed by EDAW Shanghai.

The design was inspired by, and featured an outstanding view of an ancient mountain-top temple visible from the property.

The timber deck provided an unobstructed view of the temple while the multi-layered planting along the south west of the property created a private and comfortable sheltered area for gatherings.

The dry riverbed and waterfeature echoes the local topography, creates smaller garden spaces and establishes a sense of unity and movement. Custom designed lighting towers interpret the materials and texture of the temple and provide a serene atmosphere at night.
